The market features a weekly food truck, plus educational events for children and families (on hiatus due to COVID-19). For information about the market, please visit these Facebook pages: Columbus KS Farmers’ Market and The Columbus Project. In addition to our Farmers’ Market, the City of Columbus has a Community Garden located at the intersection of E. Maple St. and N. Magnolia Ave., near the Farmers Co-op. Our Community Garden is volunteer-driven and gives our residents access to seasonal fresh produce. Located on the grounds is a storage building with tools volunteers can use and space where extra produce is placed to share with the community.
Columbus Days
Our most notable event is the Columbus Day Festival and Hot Air Balloon Regatta which takes place in October. We have been proud to host this annual event for over 52 consecutive years. Local vendors line our downtown square and the event is highlighted by a Saturday morning parade and the region’s largest Hot Air Balloon launch. Columbus Days Schedule of Events
