The City Clerk’s office provides services that connect citizens to their government and maintains the recorded history of city government action; it provides administrative support to the City Council and maintains custody of the minutes, resolutions, ordinances, and other official records of the City.
The City Clerk serves as the official record custodian of city records and is responsible for compliance of the Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) by providing information and copies of official city records for staff and citizens. The City Clerk’s office also maintains the City Code Book, issues business and liquor licenses, bills and collects utility payments and other revenues. Rental of city facilities, purchasing cemetery plots, maintaining cemetery records, human resources, payroll, accounts payable, and many other administrative functions.
