Animal Control
Animal control enforces city ordinances and state statutes regarding animals. It is our mission to accomplish this with the utmost compassion for animals.
We are a modern and technologically advanced division of the Columbus Police Department, and we are always looking for ways to improve equipment and procedures to better serve the community.
CITY ANIMAL SHELTER
The city animal shelter is located at 314 W Cedar St. All dogs found to be running at large are picked up and returned to the owner as quickly as possible.

TNR PROGRAM
TNR is the humane way to manage the cat population. Once we locate feral cats, they are trapped, neutered or spayed, vaccinated against rabies, ear-tipped, and returned to the familiar location or colony where they congregate. To report feral cats, please contact us at (620) 429-3992.
SPEAK WITH ANIMAL CONTROL
Please call the County Dispatch at (620) 429-3992 who will then refer the call. This allows a Police Officer to answer the call if the animal control officer is not on duty.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
