To Avoid Service Disconnection
Utility accounts not paid by the due date will become delinquent and will incur a 10% late charge. Service will be disconnected on or after the 26th of the month once accounts become delinquent. Delinquent accounts will also incur a reconnection fee. This fee, in addition to your bill, must be paid in full before service can be reinstated. No payment arrangements may be made. All payments must be made to the City of Columbus only and not a third party.
Reconnects
Payments must be made by noon Monday – Friday to assure service will be restored the same day. All payments made to your account after noon will result in restoring service the following business day. Someone must be home at the time we arrive to reconnect your service to ensure no faucets are on, which can lead to household flooding. If no one is at your residence upon Public Works arrival, your meter will not be turned on.
Water Meter Tampering
It is unlawful to tamper with the City of Columbus’ water meter or any related pipes and equipment. You may be subject to criminal or civil action, or both should tampering occur.
